Why Sudbury Christian Academy?

Our Commitment

After years of aiming to “meet and exceed” the Ontario curriculum, the SCA curriculum committee ultimately deemed it necessary to establish its own set of benchmarks. SCA’s mandate as an independent school is to consistently exceed, not just to meet, the Ontario curriculum standards in every area.

We are proud to be helping shape tomorrow’s leaders and our approach is designed to provide each and every student with the moral, social and academic advantages they will require as leaders of their generation.

Language

Our Language curriculum takes a classical approach to literacy, focusing primarily on reading and writing in a range of forms, genres, and intended audiences.

Math

Our Mathematics curriculum utilizes Singapore Math resources to uphold a fundamentally strong program rich in rote learning and practical application, consistently testing years ahead of grade level.

Science

Our Science curriculum aligns with the provincial curriculum objectives, but goes much deeper into natural and physical processes to better inform students’ scientific inquiry.

Message from the Principal

“Start children off the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it” (Proverbs 22:6).

Small classroom size

With a maximum of 18 students per room in the elementary division (and maximum 24 per room in the high school division once it launches); smaller classes mean more one-on-one attention from the teacher.

Advanced academics

Advanced academic programming at all levels, with students graduating with skills up to two years ahead of grade level in mathematics. SCA also offers an Immersive French program delivered daily from JK to grade 8.

Community

We are committed to a fully engaged partnership between home and school – working together to raise your children, encouraging their personal growth and development as they become the community leaders that they are meant to be.

So why should your child attend Sudbury Christian Academy?

“Start children off the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
